Walter Hagen

Hagen was one of the most celebrated golfers of his generation. He tallied 44 victories during his career, including 11 major championships and five Western Opens. He developed his golf game at the Country Club of Rochester in New York where he caddied as a youth and later became head professional. He was also the first head professional at Oakland Hills Country Club in Michigan. Hagen is an original member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. He passed away in 1969 at age 76.


For his work promoting the important role of caddies in the game of golf, Walter Hagen earned a place in the Caddie Hall of Fame, which recognizes individuals who support caddying.
